I think this is oxided a bit :( Mouth is dry. Probably a lot better fresh still some nice qualities to it. pantanap (1375), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 18, 2009 12oz bottle from a recent trade.....pours an attractive almost black pour with a moderate light tan head.....aroma of chocolate malt, dark fruit, and a mild roast.... smooth and creamy chocolate notes and roasted malt. an unexpected sour note in the finish. carbonation was a bit too lively and could have been more calm in nature. did not really enjoy the sourness as it disjointed the brew a bit. drewbeerme (2315), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 23, 2009 Tap at the Tiedhouse. Rich, chocolate and espresso aroma. Sweaty and nice. Dryish, creamy, chalky palate, not as rich as the aroma but a very solid effort. Sorry for this terribly short rating, that’s all I’ve got written down and to be honest I can’t remember a damn thing about this beer. BeerGestapo (740), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 16, 2009 Brewed in the USA...... Pours a sweet black color with a monster foamy khaki head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and coca-cola notes. Taste is of malts with some chocolate and nutty notes. The mouthfeel is pretty much on the thin side and finishes with a smokey aftertaste. Not bad, but i was expecting a more robust palate. ditmier (1119), Boise, Idaho, USA
