A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet chocolaty with light notes of alcohol, while the flavor is sweet with strong notes of chocolate and prunes as well as light notes of alcohol, leading to a dry woody end.

(12oz bottle, thanks kmweaver) Small brown head atop brown-black body. Aroma is medium sweet, milk chocolate, some smoke, roast. Taste is medium sweet, milk chocolate, caramel, some molasses, smoke. Medium body, some syrup.

(12 oz. bottle, courtesy of BMan1113VR) Pours a dark brown body with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, oatmeal, milk, and roasted malt. Flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, lactose, caramel, and light smoke.

On tap at the General Lafayette - listed as ’Chocolate Thunder Porter’ on their beer menu. Poured a dark balck with a brown head. Chocolate aromas. Light coffee bitterness in the taste. Smooth body.

on tap-pours a light brown head and black color. Aroma is dark malt-roasty/chocolate, faint hops bite. Taste is dark malt-roasty/chocolate/anise, cherry, then some coffee in the after taste.

Pours an opaque black with dark brown edges and a thin, wispy-lacing light tan head. Aroma of roasted dark malts and some bittersweet dark chocolate and coffee complexity. Body starts with a somewhat thick, earthy dark caramel and chocolatey malty sweetness and good, rich bittersweet dark chocolate complexity. Very drinkable and enjoyable.
