Commercial Description:
Dark, sweet, full-bodied and chewy, this is one robust Porter. Imported English malt, as well as plenty of black, chocolate, and crystal malts make for a great dessert beer. Chocolate and coffee flavors dominate this tasty brew— it’s darn good with a scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream.

Thanks to rustychiles for the share on this one. Aroma is an explosive amount of chocolate, cocoa powder, and barley malt. Taste is thinner than expected, but by no means a slouch. Very well balanced, but still a little lacking in the mouthfeel. Good all-around beer.

A 12 oz. bottle thanks to "hannont". Colour... black with a thick tan head. Nose... musty, boozy with loads of dark chocolate. Palate... tangy, slightly bitter, soy sauce, dark chocolate, not quite what I expected as far as the palate was concerned.

Poured from a 12oz bottle. Nose is of sweet chocolate and mocha. Minimal head with some lacing, a bit frothy. Taste is toasted chocolate flavors, hints of vanilla and cream follow, continues for a minute in the finish. Very drinkable Porter, I could put back a few of these.

I poured a tiny bit in a glass, I guess too quickly, because the most massive tan head filled the whole glass. I literally only poured half an ounce and this thing foamed up more then I’ve ever seen. As expected it smells like chocolate, but also has a pleasant alcohol lift with a touch of berry. I really had to sniff this one out waiting for the head to settle. With half the beer in the glass it’s half black half chocolate milkshake foam. The initial taste has a dark chocolate and light burnt flavor. Some hints of espresso and berry poke in as well. Some sweetness comes through with a moderately dry hop finish. It’s only 6.7 %, but I would have guessed it to be more. There is medium carbonation with a chewy feel. I very much enjoyed this porter. Its dark complex and has a hoppy edge to it.

Bottle from Abe’s in Bethlehem ($2.50). I saw the BA label near it so I thought it was worth a try and I should have bought more for my wife. The chocolate hits me up front along with a roasted flavor and a slight sourness which i initially disliked. The body is a bit like soda in feel. Brilliant complex aroma with some nuttiness though.

Bottle. Aroma was burnt malt, a light coccoa. Poured a almost black and decent sized head. Flavor was roast malt, coccoa and a wierd sour malt taste. Palate is medium bodied finishes pretty clean. Overall good but strange.

From dmac via trade. The pour was dark brown and clear. A one-finger tall light tan head appeared. Minimal lacing. The aroma was roasted, almost burnt malts and coffee. A bit of chocolate. The flavor was roasted malts, old coffee, light chocolate and a bit of sour fruit towards the finish. Light body, dry mouthfeel. Slightly above average.

Thanks to FooFaa for this extra. 12 oz bottle poured into a tulip produced two fingers worth of coco colored head that just stays around. The body is a midnight black. The aroma of the brew is strong roasted malts, big dark chocolate and espresso notes as well. Flavor is very similar to the nose. The flavors of espresso and dark chocolate come thru very bitter not to much sweetness in this brew at all. It has a medium feel in my mouth with good carbonation almost too much for the style. A good porter easy to drink on this rainy Sunday Serving type: bottle

bottle, pours black with a tall brown head. Roasty cocoa nib nose. Sour roasted maltand milk chocolate flavors. Not bad, but I think the heavy carbonation hurts a little.
