Pours a black color with a tiny ring of light brown lace. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and subtle fruits. Good flavor of roasted malt, chocolate and underlying fruits with a bitter finish. The body is light with a dry texture and low carbonation. This is good, maybe not as I thought it would be but still a very pleasant experience.

Excellent porter. Had it at the brewpub. Dark brown in color. Roasty aroma. It has a big roasty flavor. Very good.

Draft: Rich chestnut. Creamy light mocha foam edge. Dried plum, black licorice, and tangy fudge aroma balanced with charred sugars and leafy hops. Whispers of charcoal, coffe, and fudge-coated cherries. Trace oxidation, to boot. Thick and viscous on the tongue with light pricks of carbonation. Tasty medley of dried plums, molasses, and vanilla. Scratchy earthy hop underlay cuts through the sweetness with light notes of caramel. Finishes thickly malted alongside rich molasses, tangy fudge, and dark grape skins. Hops, ink, and leather linger beyond the finish. This is thicker than 90% of the Imperial Stouts out there, but needs a tad more creaminess to bring the flavors together. Lovely brew.

Dark brown. Head fades. Roasty porter like aroma (go figure). Big roasty flavor. Alcohol well hidden. Very drinkable.

Excellent example of a Baltic Porter. Excellent roasted aroma and flavor added to a sweet finish. First sip had me imagining an "Imperial Porter". Excellent beer from GLI, worth seeking out and sampling.

Draft at the Manayunk Brew Extravaganza in Philly. Wonderful beer. Nice sweet dark chocolate flavor. Wasn’t very heavy either.

25oz bottle from basement at brew pub.2005 version. Pures very dark brown with no head or carbonation. Smell of coffee, brown sugar, and roasted malts. Taste mildy sweet with coffee, roasted malty flavors throughout. The body was kind of thin but o.k. The flavors dissapers fast and leaves and dry hoppy aftertaste.

@ brewpub. Poured a dark mahogany/black body with a foamy tan head. The aroma was sweet milk chocolate, cherries, and light coffee and cream. Flavors were hershey bars with coffee and cream. Some berries and sweet smoke in the finish. Very thick and oily mouthfeel. I Love This Beer!
