Commercial Description:
A light, easy drinking German Blonde Ale, straw yellow in color. Similar in style to a Kolsh, the reformulated version of this popular favorite has more malt flavor and less hop bite. Imported German malt as well as a special Alt yeaststrain from Dusseldorf contribute to its incredible smoothness!

Gold, thin white head. Light fruity nose with an underlying grassiness. Flavor is similar with touches of earth and citrus. Light bodied, soft carbonation, lightly bitter finish. This beer is what it is...a nice easy drinking session brew...

The Lure:
Milky straw evokes the Kölsch origins of this ale. Subtle fruitiness and minty sweetness for an obviously well-brewed house blond.

The Festivities:
A cushion-y mouthfeel offers beautiful pils malts and soft yeast brushes. Hoppiness is subdued, if not absent. The brewer’s abilities are definitely showcased in this one.

Transcendence:
Surgical precision is a beauty to behold.

Draft at brewpub. Pours golden with a white head. No discernible aromas. Light bodied but clean and smooth on the palate, stopping short of being watery. Flavor of cereal grains with the right amount of sweetness. I would prefer just a pinch of more hops, but overall I found this to be a very enjoyable lighter beer.

Thin head of fine bubbles. Very good carbonation. Light citrus and malt aroma with some sweetness to the nose. Medium gold in color. Thin palate. Crisp and fruity lemon with some bready malts. Little bit grassy with a slight tartness late swallow. Some bitterness and hops presence at the end but finishes clean and refreshing. A pretty good kolsch style.

Lactic, grassy, grainy aroma. Clear golden coloured body with a low white head that recedes to ring. Grainy, lightly grassy hop flavour with mild bitterness. Somewhat lactic character. Medium light body with strong carbonation. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, Rastacouere and Yowie.

On tap at GLI. Gold with aroma of hopcit. Tastes hopcity with some malt, and a smooth, crisp finish. Light to medium palate, with some finishing hops.

On tap at brewpub, 2/1/07. Pours a slightly hazy gold body with a foamy white head. Some light lacing. Light aroma of fruity esters, light yeast, and pale malts. Flavor is pretty minimal, soft and fruity with some yeast and a light hint of bananas. Mouthfeel is very soft and light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, this was pretty decent for what it was, but it really didn’t fit the bill for a Kölsch. There was a pretty much complete lack of bitterness and the malt wasn’t especially clean.
