Brownish in color with a roasty, malty aroma that is quite inviting. Flavor has some nice breadiness and light hops with a pleasant finish. Its still a mild, but damn good for the style.

Sep 12, 2009 Another unimpressive brew from GLI. Slight detection of roasted malts and nuttyness in the aroma and flavor. Medium bodied, decent carbonation - drinkable.

Sep 9, 2009 On tap at the General. Poured dark brown with a nice prickly beige head. Nose of subtle caramel malt, saaz hops (?), yeast. Extremely balanced flavor with some slightly fruity, yeasty elements, a good caramel malt base, and the hops. Really liked this one...I think I read that this is the brewer’s favorite of all the GL beers. It’s a highly sessionable, flavorful mild ale that was really well executed.

Sep 4, 2009 On tap at the GLI Brew Pub. Poured a darker brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of roasted and burnt malts and some caramel. Tastes of the same burnt/roatiness, caramel, and somewhat nutty.

Sep 3, 2009 [Cask at General Lafayette] Red amber color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of cocoa, caramel, and dark fruits. Taste of raisins, citrus fruits, caramel malts, nuts, and finishing semi-sweet.
