Commercial Description:
Our most anticipated specialty brew is back. Sour, tart, dry, wine-like Belgian-style Ale made with 400 pounds of whole raspberries and a lactic fermentation. Six months in the making, this bright red brew has a quenching finish. This batch has a noticeably fuller body and mouthfeel than previous years. $6.00, served in an 8-ounce wine glass only.

Hazy, slightly muted raspberry hue and a clean, silky white head. Fresh sour raspberries in the nose with clean acetic and lactic notes. Medium sour raspberry flavor with welcome woody dryness in the finish. Much less sweet than anticipated with some nice tangible depth. Crisp, quenching and enjoyable; this one stays with you. A cut above most standard brewpub fruit beers.

Deep ruby color with little head. The aroma is solid raspberry with some funkiness. The taste is of authentic raspberries with some tartness in the finish. Somewhat light mouthfeel. I liked this one more than most, it appears.

Musty, raspberry jam-like aroma is very sweet. Clear amber brown body with a low, white, fully diminishing head. Musty, lightly tart, raspberry flavour is quite sweet with some cheesey character in the finish. Thin body with no carbonation. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, Rastacouere and Yowie.

Draft at the Brewery. Sweet beer. Not tart enough. Like drinking Raspberry cool aid. Had a little sugary taste.

Pours a clear dark red color with a ring of white lace. Sweet aroma of raspberry jam. Dusty and sweet flavor of raspberries. The palate is light and powdery with soft carbonation. Eesh, that’s not good at all.

The Lure:
Sweet raspberries boldly take over the entire aroma. Caramel may be perceived haphazardly, as well as various berries, but this will always remain a mainly sweet and fruity perfume. No sign of the "tart, dry, and wine-like" ale they are advertising.

The Festivities:
Fizzy carbonation and dusty vinous fruitiness never reach tartness. Watery passages amongst the supersweet raspberry syrup. Gum-drying funkiness, emulating a poor attempt at a De Ranke Kriek.

Transcendence:
I don’t like too much makeup on a woman.

Clear ruby, headless. A Strong fruity raspberry nose offers a plate of leafy and dusty yeastiness left and right, bringing chaotic cheesy and wood branches notes, but forgetting all about concepts like finesse and rusticity. We’re left with a flatish, powdery mouthfeel that is a function to the rather dirty yeast strain used. Not very tart, but quite funky.

On tap at the GLI. Poured a deep ruby red color with no head at all. Aromas of mainly rasberries. Tastes of tart raspberries (not an overboard mouth puckering tartness) and somewhat of an earthy/wheaty taste as well. I never would have guessed this one was 7%.
