A slightly hazy deep red beer with a fast disappearing off-white head. The aroma has light notes of raspberries. The flavor is sour, but also with a light sweetness on which are notes of raspberries, and a subdued note of wood, leading to a dry acidic end. The acidity leaves notes of lemon on the lips. Nice acidity and a strong body. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 19, 2005 On tap at the GLI. Poured a deep ruby red color with no head at all. Aromas of mainly rasberries. Tastes of tart raspberries (not an overboard mouth puckering tartness) and somewhat of an earthy/wheaty taste as well. I never would have guessed this one was 7%. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Oct 11, 2005 Clear ruby, headless. A Strong fruity raspberry nose offers a plate of leafy and dusty yeastiness left and right, bringing chaotic cheesy and wood branches notes, but forgetting all about concepts like finesse and rusticity. We’re left with a flatish, powdery mouthfeel that is a function to the rather dirty yeast strain used. Not very tart, but quite funky. CaptainCougar (5520), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 17, 2007 Pours a bright glowing red with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Sweet and tart fruity raspberries dominate the nose. Starts a little thin with big fruity character throughout with a good balance of sweet and tart flavors. Finishes crisp with some drier tartness. Quite drinkable and refreshing. MartinT (5068), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 12, 2005 The Lure: Sweet raspberries boldly take over the entire aroma. Caramel may be perceived haphazardly, as well as various berries, but this will always remain a mainly sweet and fruity perfume. No sign of the "tart, dry, and wine-like" ale they are advertising.
The Festivities: Fizzy carbonation and dusty vinous fruitiness never reach tartness. Watery passages amongst the supersweet raspberry syrup. Gum-drying funkiness, emulating a poor attempt at a De Ranke Kriek.
Transcendence: I don’t like too much makeup on a woman. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

The taste is of authentic raspberries with some tartness in the finish. Somewhat light mouthfeel. I liked this one more than most, it appears. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 1/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Dec 13, 2005 Musty, raspberry jam-like aroma is very sweet. Clear amber brown body with a low, white, fully diminishing head. Musty, lightly tart, raspberry flavour is quite sweet with some cheesey character in the finish. Thin body with no carbonation. Sampled on tap at the brewpub with beerbuzzmontreal, MartinT, Rastacouere and Yowie.
