Genny Cream is not too aesthetically appealing but the well-balanced taste more than makes up for it. As someone else said, this is "the best of the worst". Bcoble003 (100), Dalton, Ohio, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 25, 2007 Updated: Sep 10, 2007Yeasty, metallic smell with a touch of malt perhaps, after a light golden pour with short to medium lived white head. Taste is very smooth, yet suitably carbonated and has a sweetish grainish corn or wheaty hearty flavor to it. Just a touch of bitterness, and enough to balance out the mild flavors. Tastes similar to a couple Kolsches I’ve had, such as Shiner Kolsch and Lawnmower. Aftertaste was there and was pleasant. This isn’t going to be a fancy beer needing an acquired taste, but I thought it was very drinkable and enjoyable, especially after the 2 other beers I rated tonight which were debacles, and undrinkable. jmikolich (405), Athens, Ohio, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 30, 2007 Genny Cream Ale is a sparkling, light golden ale with great clarity. It has a small, fragile white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma carries a muted fruitiness. On the tounge, it’s medium-light and slightly gritty. It has more substance than a typical macro. The flavor is very slight. There is the hint of something metallic or paper. (Heck, it’s from a can.) The flavor is balanced and seems to have a good blend of fruity hops and fruity esters. A step up from your typical macro. Very pilsner-like. locarboy (115), USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | May 29, 2007 this is ome of my college beers. i expected to think not too much of it after years away from it. hey, i used to like stroh’s, schlitz, and a fresh schmitdt’s on occasion. genesee cream ale has held it’s own. for a pale lager beer it actually has a bit of character compared to BMC. a bit sweet in the palate, but that is the attraction. it is a traditional industrial american cream ale. take that for what it is worth. given the choice of a bud, miller, coors, or genny cream...i’ll take the genny cream. keoki182 (305), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 26, 2007 $1 can at Bender’s Sports Pub. Ice cold, this beer was drinkable at that price. Considering the alternatives in the $1 cooler (Keystone Light and Blatz), I think the Genesee Cream Ale was a fine beer. Smelled like a BMC clone, taste was slightly fuller. Corn flavors appeared as it warmed. Genesee Cream Ale falls into that category for me where, when faced with bottom of the barrel options, it’s the best of the worst. It’s not really fair to rate it against an Arrogant Bastard or a Westy, but it is what it is. Lubiere (4536), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
