Aroma has caramel, very mild. Flavor has a touch of sweetness, mild bitterness throughout. Also a tiny bit of industrial metallic flavor. Finishes iwth light bitterness. Palate is light and a little livey. BlackOut (43), East End, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 3, 2008 I dont mind this one at all, not the best cheap drinker in my opinion but for the price its one of the best, can guzzle a lot of it in a summertime. The carbonation is a bit annoying and dont like it extremely cold, let it sit for a bit in the warmth so all the rest of the flavours come out. Unique69crazy (119), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 2, 2008 Traditional and average amongst most brews. I’m referring those that made so you buy them anywhere. And I had no idea it was brewed by the Coors. Pours steady into a glass with a developing foam at top. Nice and dark, it’s got some flavor, mostly bready. And you can buy it most places for a decent price, it’s a good buy for someone on a budget that wants a more premium brew. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Mar 1, 2008 As other reviewers have stated this appears to be the gateway beer. This was the first beer I drank that wasn’t a main stream beer. I picked a six pack up a week ago after a year or two of not having one. I would swear the recipe changed. A deep red color that is best served ice cold. The colder this beer is th sweeter the taste. Good beer for the price. dkoonce (884), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Mar 1, 2008 Can’t believe I’ve yet to rate this beer. Bottle. Pours a clear copper/red, with a modest, peach colored head. The aroma is light malt, if anything, with no hint of hops. Smooth, bland flavor, but clean tasting. Obviously filtered and pasteurized. As an American macro, it’s one of the best, with more malt flavor than about anything. But, it pales in comparison to micro and European dark lagers. MrRain (428), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Mar 1, 2008 12oz bottle poured into an English pint. GKIR pours amber and ultra-filtered. There isn’t a speck of anything in it. The head is surprisingly creamy and full. It has a malty metallic aroma that is a bit unpleasent. I have found through past experience that this is a beer that should be drank cold, cold like a macro-brew. the flavor is very malty without much character. I classify this as a stepping stone for mainstream beer drinkers to get into the world of micros. Hinez57 (129), Clinton, Mississippi, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Feb 29, 2008 This was my favorite beer back in college, before I was properly introduced to craft beers and homebrewing. I’ll not add to the already abundant information on this beer. I’ll just say thank you Mr Killians (Coors) for giving me a more flavorful beer than the standard fair so that I was prepared to venture into real craft beers. I have Lazy Magnolia brews to trade, just message me.
