This beer poured a light amber color with a two-finger thick beige head that quickly faded away. No lace. The aroma was made up of faint notes of caramel and sweet malts. The flavor was lightly sweet and mellow with a hint of caramel. The mouthfeel was light-bodied with heavy carbonation. I can’t believe that I used to think this was a treat. This sampling of this brew will probably be my last. wilderthanyou (418), Guelph, Ontario, Canada
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 12, 2007 Pours a brick red colour with a fizzy beige ring. Aroma of brown sugar. Flavours of malts, and sugar with a metallic finish. Too sweet, not well balanced. Pretty much what I expected. mcnally (114), Burbank, California, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 10, 2007 i bought this thinking it might be a cheap alternative to Murphy’s Irish Red. holy crap this beer was a big disappointment. almost no aroma, taste is very weak malt, and not too pleasant. probably won’t even finish the six. mhot55 (99), USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 8, 2007 always loved that reddish hue, of course this was well before i knew beers were not all pale straw yellow. not a bad brew. for a relatively cheap beer, you get a good bargain. got a good taste, decent malt flavor. good carbonation. good intro to those who drink cheapies prosqtor (408), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 7, 2007 Not a red at all. Counts on the marketing phrase "Irish Red" to sell to people who think it’s better than a macro with some malt and red coloring. Not much to say, although I will say there have been times it’s tasted pretty good... lovemyipas (420), sw burbs, Illinois, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 6, 2007 on tap. agree with everybody else nice amber look not much head or lacing. small malt aroma and flavor with a touch of hops, but pretty thin on the palate. and that’s about it i would grab it over most macros though. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Aug 5, 2007 This beer is very blah. It doesn’t have much taste at all. They have it on tap everywhere and they advertise the heck out of it. Maybe the name "Killians Irish Red" is trying to convince you that it is a step above an American macro...and maybe it is, but only barely. markas101 (575), Fargo, North Dakota, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Aug 4, 2007 33 cl bottle, Fargo. Watery amber colour, heavy malt aroma. Watery in the mouth, slight caramel flavor, for the price not terrible but there are many better options out there.
