Now, I know that this is not a real Irish ale and is actually a lager. And I also realize that comparing this with Brian Boru is like comparing the size of an elephant and a mouse. But I just wanted to amuse myself.)
It pours a clear copper with little off-white head that dissipates quite quickly. The head seems to consist of large bubbles. The lacing is very weak. The aroma was somewhat sweet and tangy such as a grapefruit, but it was difficult to notice. It also seemed to have very slight vanilla notes. As I started to drink it, I noticed some slight flavours of a citrusy grapefruit, but what else I couldn’t figure out due to the sheer weakness of this beer. All-in-all, it tasted like seltzer water. It also had the fizziness of seltzer water. The finish was just like any other macro-style lagers, a weird dirty bitterness I can’t even describe. It’s almost garbage-like. I tasted this again after having a few sips of the Brian Boru and couldn’t discern any of the flavours I previously mentioned. It tasted even more like seltzer water. I literally laughed.
I will say that this is definitely better than most macro lagers, though. ghouseguy (20), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Pretty good for a macro...but would rather drink a micro wich would have so much more character. It was free at my neighbors house, so I can’t complain too much. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 19, 2007 plenty of flavor. although i am not a fan of it. caramel malty grainy flavor that really doesn’t say much else. seems bubbly and astringent. more slick than creamy. the color is interesting but that’s about it. decent brew that is refreshing. to say something new -maybe they could up the alcohol content. sickly style of nutty taste. cheap fruity gumball flavor. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 19, 2007 This is the best macro lager that I have had, and considering the climate of the American Macro lager, that really isn’t saying much. I really liked the look of this beer, and it is pretty smooth. Some subtle citrus flavor and malt flavor with little to no hop bitterness. Finished clean with a pleasant aftertaste. But not among my favorites. It however wasn’t bad. tclowans (19), rolling meadows, Illinois, USA
