does not count hauntedwolf99 (4), Lexington, Kentucky, USA Nov 3, 2002 This beer is great, both in the bottle and tap. Definitely the best American made beer around. Its similar to Murphy’s, which is a little better, but harder to find in the U.S.
projectiled (1), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA does not count Oct 6, 2008 From bottle. Nice slightly off-white head that remained for some time; rim of head remained for an hour with decent lacing. While not a complex beer by any standards, the heavy malt combined with notes of caramel add to a rather full and drinkable beer. Better quality for the price than would be expected, especially if you’re looking for something malty. Overall, a decent beer that can even be a good beer if you’re mood allows, though lacking in complexity to score any higher. Fearless99 (14), Oregon, USA Oct 5, 2008 Bottle from local supermarket. Pours red with a light head. Head dissipated quickly. Very little aroma. Initial impression has a very woody taste. Follows light and easy to drink. Slightly bitter finish. Overall, it’s an OK beer, but nothing great and nothing I ever want to drink a lot of. The initial hit of the woody flavor and awkward bitterness turns me off every time. Guinnessman (80), VACAVILLE, California, USA Oct 5, 2008 Pours a reddish amber color with a decent head. Not a bad beer, but not a great one either. Had it in the bottle and on tap, not much difference between the two. I’d still drink it over a Bud or Miller. DTM (395), Winters, California, USA Oct 2, 2008 Bottle from TGIF’s in Vacaville, CA. Poured an amber color with little to no head. Tasted of carmel flavor with a little bit of spice. Easy on the palate and very drinkable. One of the better macrobrews. RONCOD (76), Pennsylvania, USA Sep 28, 2008 Reddish amber color with a thin tan head. This had a sweet caramel taste with some nutty flavor in the background. Very drinkable beer.
