| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 26, 2009 Tap @ Kahootz: Amber color with a white ring head. It has sweet malty aromas full of nuts and toffee perhaps. The flavor is equally malty with some cardboard thrown in. It has a thin finish as well as a slightly bitter aftertaste. To me, it’s a pretty good example of an ESB. ditmier (1091), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Tap @ BBF - Pours a ruddy orangewith a small off white head...aroma is toast and floral hops, with some sweet malt, light cereal graniness...flavour is similar, and this was billed as a pale red, which I definitley think is more applicable than an ESB...great caramel malt backbone to a nicely hopped up dry pale ale...very good stuff... | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 28, 2009 On tap at Georgetown Liquor Company. Clear red pour with a decent head. Strong hoppy, fruity aroma. I am amazed by the way this beer manages to pull off such a big hoppy taste without the usual strong bitterness of a good IPA- I could drink this all night. Really well balanced. The initial malty sweetness GRADUALLY fades into a bitter hoppy finish. This is the first NW beer I fell in love with after moving to Seattle. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 1, 2008 9/28/08 On draught at The Panther Room, Seattle, Wa. Aroma is grainy, malty, with some slightly biting caramel. Appearance is a hazy brown with a well maintained cream colored head. Flavor is malt dominant, grainy sweet, with low caramel and moderate noble bittering. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly creamy with a moderate carb texture and clean finish. Overall, quite good, and very easy drinking for a red ale, which I normally see as harsh from most American brewers. anders37 (4691), Malmö, Sweden
