Nice dubbel. Not too good. A bit too much roasted dark taste. A bit overdone. But drinkable and enjoyable.

16 Jun 2005 - (Schruers terrace, Margraten) - Sweet fruit and earthy aroma. clear brown-red colour with good lacing. High hopped and malt finish. A steely and tangy finish.

(Bottle 33 cl) Beautiful, clear mahogany colour with a small, creamy, beige head that leaves a fine lacing. Lightly spiced aroma with notes of roasted malt. Flavour also contains some roasted malt with a touch of caramel. No real sweetness, this beer is surprisingly dry and in spite of the alcohol it appears rather light and easygoing. 280805

Strong malt aroma with a hint of flowers. Red brown colour with poor head but good lacing. Sweet malt flavour with a bitter aftertaste. Flat palate.

(Bottled) Clear, dark reddish amber color with a smallish, white and foamy, lacy head. Same aroma as in the gerardus Blond, but with some added caramel. Toffee-malty, caramely flavor with some acidity and roastiness. Medium-bodied, quite foamy-carbonated palate. Quite easy and boring dubbel, but at least it’s not spoiled with excess sugar. Hides the ABV well.

Bottle. Dark brown, clean. Small head. Over-ripe fruit, caramel, bit of vinegar/lightly tart, dry, short finish, medium body. Nice

Bottled. Dark ruby red colour, quickly diminishing head. Aroma is nice with caramelly, raisiny notes. Tastes a tad boring, mainly sweet and malty with hints of raisins. Drinkable, but not actually comparable to a nice trappist dubbel.

Beautiful deep red beer with beige head, aroma with cherries and berries. The flavor is quite sweet, turning sweeter during the drink, starting with cherries and (cran?)berries, ending caramelly. Quite nice, not very complex but easy drinkable and pleasant.
