The beer itself is not extremely flavorful, not bland by the least. Light tan head, amber pour, very smooth.
Friday Lunch specials with the great Catfish basket and a 22oz fishbowl of Gerst Amber Ale for less than $10 is always a plus! poca (1), Tennessee, USA does not count | 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/20 | Jul 13, 2006 Gerst is actually a lager. I work at the Sportsmans in Cool Springs and the owners own the rights to Gerst but its contract brewed by Pitt. Brewing Com. I think the ABV is around 5.3 not a whole lot of flavor but very drinkable. Suttree (2740), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Decent malt profile, clean and thinly bodied. Smooth, and very little hop flavor. Surprisingly not bad. SledgeJr (2970), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

This place is chocked full of great beeraphernalia. We used to buy kegs of Gerst for our parties. A fine amber ale. Very nice balance for those who are not used to a beer with color or flavor. I've nothing but fond memories of this one. bluemeow76 (693), Lewis Center, Ohio, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 8, 2003 Pours a medium amber with a ivory/beige head. Aroma and flavor are mostly of malt and caramel. Not a terrible beer, but below average in the amber category. Dogbrick (2874), Columbus, Ohio, USA
