bottle. went head to head with another amber lager (bells) and it the gila loses. Neither beer was very interesting actually. The color was transparent much like the flavor. Nothing terrible but it tastes like a typical lager with some malt, a little malt thrown in.

Pour is a copper with a small white head. Aroma is barley a whiff of caramel malts. Flavor is somewhat malty but nothing really. Boring and bland.

By the bottle, a light amber tone to its appearance, with a nice off-white head. Quite malty with notes of caramel and subtle toffee. Just a hint of hops and a sweet malty finish. A very nice dependable spring/summer one.

honey orange color with a medium sized, off-white head. lots of lacing. somewhat drab aroma. flavor is boring too. very "lager-like" with not enough "amber" qualities as it claims.

The aroma was citrusy and lightly spicy with hops leading the charge. Behind the hop presence lurked a fruit presence not expected in a lager. The amber brew was lightly hazy and had an off-white head which lasted well to lace the glass. The flavor was quite bitter and a bit metallic. The flavor and bittering hops had a citrus and spicy nature and just a smidge of grassiness. Some caramel was present and as the beer warmed the substantial bittering was not as metallic as thought after the first impression. The body was medium and the carbonation was moderate leading to an almost creamy mouthfeel. A quite bitter brew which was not clean as would be expected from a lager. Not bad and something that I might purchase again in a pinch due to cost if nothing else. 12 ounce bottle from Trader Joes.

Pours a golden cooper color, slightly cloudy, witha big cream colored head. Faint nutty aroma. First taste is smooth, dry, slightly hoppy with no bitterness. Creamy smooth texture. Malty aftertaste. Excellent companion to a big bowl of chili and chips. Nice brew.

Bottled. Clear lighter amber pour with a tall cap of rather creamy off-white head. Soft caramel and faint tart lemony-wheat notes on the aroma giving an easy and inviting aura. Flavor was of lemon-accented sweet caramel and pale malts... mild floral and wheaty bitterness. A tad rough around the palate and grainy, but maintained its composure respectably.. lighter-bodied. Decent drink.. the "Pale Lager" category doesn’t appear accurate.

Amber, malty, lagery. This isn’t a very interesting beer so i don’t have anything interesting to say about it. I do think this is mis-categorized on ratebeer however, its clearly more of a Vienna than a "pale lager". I suspect its the exact same beer as the Trader Joe’s Vienna.
