Yet it transends its style by having a good flavor and rich color. Very much like a Killians but a little more bitter. For 77 cents the best cheep beer I have had but would not hunt for it jebert (116), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA

Faint nutty aroma. First taste is smooth, dry, slightly hoppy with no bitterness. Creamy smooth texture. Malty aftertaste. Excellent companion to a big bowl of chili and chips. Nice brew. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 6, 2007 The aroma was citrusy and lightly spicy with hops leading the charge. Behind the hop presence lurked a fruit presence not expected in a lager. The amber brew was lightly hazy and had an off-white head which lasted well to lace the glass. The flavor was quite bitter and a bit metallic. The flavor and bittering hops had a citrus and spicy nature and just a smidge of grassiness. Some caramel was present and as the beer warmed the substantial bittering was not as metallic as thought after the first impression. The body was medium and the carbonation was moderate leading to an almost creamy mouthfeel. A quite bitter brew which was not clean as would be expected from a lager. Not bad and something that I might purchase again in a pinch due to cost if nothing else. 12 ounce bottle from Trader Joes. dominion (78), charlotte, North Carolina, USA

Aromas of caramel malts, and a touch of biscuit with some grassy hops. Flavor is quite malty with notes of caramel, a touch of yeast, and some sweet roasted malts. Palate is light and rather airy with carbonation. Pretty drinkable and woudl be a decent sumer session. I thought htis to be an amber and not a pale actually.
