Toasted walnut is at the forefront, countered with a medium intensity hop body. A bit watery on the palate but very drinkable and enjoyable, very light carbonation. I must say I really enjoyed this, nice alternative to the same old brewpub standards. Well done. jcwattsrugger (5573), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

This style is supposed to be "well hopped" something this is lacking. The color is a nice, dark amber/ copper, pours with a thin head. Lots of malt and biscuit present here, but very light on the hops making this a sweeter beer that could use some more bitterness. Not well balanced. yobdoog (1509), Woodridge NY, New York, USA

Made for the Newpaltz crowd I guess. Taste is sweet and balanced, even a hint of spice and toast. Ok. j12601 (1340), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 11, 2008 Sample at the brewpub: Pours a bronze/amber color with a fading light tan head. The aroma is slightly toasted, mildly nutty with underlying biscuity malts. Decent light body. The flavor has some smooth, mildly toasted malt presence- bread-crust and subtle nutty hints. The finish remains toasted and is mildly hopped. A decent Altbier. SuzyGreenberg (1408), Seattle, Washington, USA

Smooth on the taste.
Fades a bit on the palate and gets a bit watery.
