Growler. Pours nut brown with a thin tan head. Malty sweet aroma with a touch of caramel. Toasted walnut is at the forefront, countered with a medium intensity hop body. A bit watery on the palate but very drinkable and enjoyable, very light carbonation. I must say I really enjoyed this, nice alternative to the same old brewpub standards. Well done.

on tap–pours an off white head and copper/gold color. Aroma is light/medium malt-caramel, earthy. Taste is light/medium malt-toffee/honey, earthy hops. Light/medium body.

Sampled @ Otter: Not bad, but nothing special. This style is supposed to be "well hopped" something this is lacking. The color is a nice, dark amber/ copper, pours with a thin head. Lots of malt and biscuit present here, but very light on the hops making this a sweeter beer that could use some more bitterness. Not well balanced.

Aroma is caramel malts with some roast to it. Not half bad but just not enough. Made for the Newpaltz crowd I guess. Taste is sweet and balanced, even a hint of spice and toast. Ok.

Pours a dark caramel color with a light tan head. Malty notes, with hints of toast and chocolate. Very smooth body with more malt, and a crisp bitter finish.

Sample at the brewpub: Pours a bronze/amber color with a fading light tan head. The aroma is slightly toasted, mildly nutty with underlying biscuity malts. Decent light body. The flavor has some smooth, mildly toasted malt presence- bread-crust and subtle nutty hints. The finish remains toasted and is mildly hopped. A decent Altbier.

sampler @ brewery - dark brown and clear; drinks smooth with a creamy finish; a little grainy too; has a dry, maltiness to it mixed with mild flavors of nuts; interesting

Had on the suggestion of the bartender. I had high hopes but they weren’t meet. Poured a nice mid to dark brown but with little head. Light hoppy smell. Smooth on the taste. Fades a bit on the palate and gets a bit watery.
