Bottle - Hazy amber body with a creamy white head leaving some lacing; Medium sized nose with aromas that doesn’t seem all settled, lots of cane sugar, lots of apple and lots of sharp warm vinegar; Perfect a little sharp carbonation in body, soft texture, quite full and a little bitter with both lactic and fruits acids behind; Medium long finish that seems a bit hoppy bitter dry and actually has hop aromas, not a lot of acid and it seems a bit dusty. Nothing wrong with Faro this one just doesn’t do the job well.

(37.5 cl bottle at Delirium Café, Göteborg) Dark redish brown color, big lasting tan head. Sour lactic type scent, like soured milk left out in room temperature. Sour and strangely bitter taste. Sour aftertaste with some mouthpuckering bitterness, but not from hops more from chewing on grape peels.

Sampled with family after Christmas dinner. Got the bottle from janka in a trade at the GABF. Hazy, amber color. Burnt sugar aroma. sweet, with a tart flavor that persists throught the finish.

Bottle from Ölbuttiken, Copenhagen. This is my first Lambic Faro and I was expecting a sugary sweet beer with mild sourness. In reality this is actually very pleasantly balanced, with restrained sweetness and a medium tart finish wrapped up in a wonderfully smooth mouthfeel. Poured a hazy hazelnut with a frothy white head into a nucleated glass, so the head stayed until the bitter end. Nice sticky lacing. Smell of apple, grapefruit and wet rope, with a splash of vinegar and a dollop of vanilla. Taste is citrus sharp up front, a burst of apples in the middle and a tasteful sour finish. The nice chap at Ölbuttiken said this was a good entry point for those unfamiliar with lambics – and I think he’s right.

Bottle. Small head with short duration. Lively carbonation. Color is amber. Aroma and taste is a bit sour and bitter.

Slight cloudy orange amber with small white head (not very long lasting). Aroma is sweet and sour, it has fine touches of honey, wood, cakes, sour fruits and apples. Taste is very nice, apples, cane sugar, sweet bread, honey and some woody tanines with a faint bitterness in the finale. 8/3/7/3/15

Aroma is malty, slightly woody and fruity. Hazy, brown coloured with a lasting, brownish medium head. Taste is sweet, just a bit tart, fruity and malty. Medium body.

(bottle, shared by pivnizub) Slightly hazy, golden coloured effervescent hue with a nice and stable yellowish foamy head. Moderately sweet and slightly tart fruity and sugary aroma. Light bodied, fairly aromatic fruity (apple) and slightly sweet taste; slim and moderately tart finish (05.10.06).
