I’m a huge fan of spontanious fermentation, but this faro doesn’t appeal to me very much. Too sweet and though it’s rather complex it doesn’t seem to exploit the potential.

Pours a clear reddish brown color with a medium, diminishing offwhite head. The aroma has a nice match of sugary sweetness and lambic funk and sourness. The flavor has a nice balance between the sugary sweetness and the Girardin lambic. The body is light with an oily texture and gentle carbonation. With 3 Fonteinen Faro, this is the best faro I’ve sampled so far, but then again, why bother drinking faro when you have a ton of Girardin Black Label at home?

Dark red in color. Thanx to oh6gdx. Medium sized reddish head, lazings. The aroma is sweet and barnyard like. The flavor is sweet and almost gueze like in the shape of a lambic!?!? Nice, sweet and sour in one package, compelling. Sweet, yepp, nice

bottle at the rake, thanks to harrisoni. dark mahogany colour, good creamy head. nose of sour whey, and a bit of glucose. very balanced faro, not too sweet, but still very heavy on the glucose. quite a lot of bread with a good hint of pepper. grand faro, i thought.

Botella. Hazy deep red colour. Fruity cherry sourish aroma. Good mouthfeel. The flavour has a good frutiness with cherries, yeast, toasty malt and a nice sourness. Nice dry sour fruity finish.

My first faro, thanks probtsk. Pours like a naturally carbonated aged beer, similar to geuze but for the pinking tinge. White head. Cherry in the aroma, and significantly in the taste. Medium and smooth mouthfeel. Easy drinking with a meal. On the sweet side, without foodi t would be too much.

375ml bottle. Mild murkiness to the pour (brown color) with a large tan head. Sweet brown sugar, caramel and honey nose - dusty, dry minerals as well (and some yeast) when warmer. Toasted grains and bread and some sweet brown sugar covered fruit tastes, a little bit of peppery yeast as well (and rye bread). There’s certainly a lot going on, but of course with faro it’s missing the acidity and it’s too sweet. Comes across as bran, toast, toffee and brown sugar, some light tartness and acidity when warmer, and it leaves the palate somewhat dry and puckery, but the sourness is very light and mostly hidden and overwhelmed by the brown sugar and caramel sweetness.
