badgerben (3160), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Nov 28, 2007 Updated: Apr 12, 2008 Belgian Beer #200. Who do I turn to when I need my rare Belgian beer fix? JK, that’s who! Copper color with very little head. Strong aroma of caramel, marshmallows and some sourness. Much the same in the taste, but paired up with some of that barnyard funk. Very sugary and sweet. Wow, damn fine.
WeeHeavySD (1849), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA Sep 29, 2008 375ml I got via trade, I can’t recall from who. Pours dark red with a tan ring. Nose is sweet and tart and sugary. Taste is sweet, tart and slightly sugary. Its interesting and a strange beer, but I like it. Beer_2000 (1269), Kristiansand, Norway Sep 27, 2008 375ml bottle. Amber body with almost no head. Acidic aroma with caramel and dry fruit. Flavor is sweet and sour with a hit of caramel and dry fruit. The Brettomyces is lurking somewhere in the background. Quite nice. JK54B (385), Finland Sep 14, 2008 Hazy reddish amber colour. Some hints of toffee in the nose. Also some sweetness and sourness too. Not very special. Tasted at Pikkulintu. Doppelganger (1198), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Sep 13, 2008 Bottle, from the BSF at the 2008 GBBF. Russet brown, fine off-white cap. Late autumn apple-sweet aroma, leaf piles, dusty leather chair. A bit of copper, clean wool socks, slightly off butter. More apple-butter flavor, gently sour and woody. Initially too sweet for my taste, but a few sips it seems to find its feet, and a fine cinnamon dryness outlines the edges nicely. yngwie (3602), Kristiansand, Norway Aug 26, 2008 Bottle at Del7irium Cafe, Gothenburg. A slightly hazy copper colored beer with a fingerthick off-white head. Lovely sourish, funky and mellow nose with some sugar. Nice, sugar-sweet, fruity and lemoney flavor. Quite carbonated, sweetish yet astringent mouthfeel, and a long, sweet finish with citrus flavors. Definiately a nice one. (080710)
