The raspberry aroma’s fly off of this with some confectionery sweet raspberry notes as well which just take the edge off of it a touch. This is sweet, tart, sour, crisp, refreshing, actually this is just summer in a glass. I’m reminded of raspberry meringues and picking rapberries off of the canes down the garden, gorging myself when Loz’s back is turned as they are her favourite fruit and turning around and getting caught out with the odd stray pip and scarlet chin proving my undoing. This isn’t as sour as some but that maybe why I am attracted to it even more, for me this is just great and how I like a fruity lambic. great stuff! As I approach the patch the sunbeams cut the thick air and warm my skin. I feast on the raspberries and notice luscious complexities of iron, pomegranates, orange flesh, blood, hay, limestone, and dry earth. Intense raspberry jam aroma. Expect it to be sicly sweet, but the hit of sourness that comes in later, balances it. Good integrated fruit. Real fruit flavour, not artificial. You can really taste the pips on this. Some vanilla raspberry ripple ice cream-esque. Wonderful quality fruit lambic hughie (3069), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 17, 2006 Beautiful pink head on a red and deep orange body, beautiful laces; Deep complex nose, very pleasant but could be a bit more up-front, super balanced mix of sour, sweet, fresh, age. It has raspberry, orange, wood, sour and dry notes, very, very pleasant; The body has a very special texture and carbonation, that melts together with an oily feel with out being the least sticky and still staying super fresh, quite full, a little sour and a very little salty; Into a very long finish where the aroma is super mellow and flows out softly, the acidity is very pleasant and stays very long. Super, super, super beer! Boutip (2380), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Poured a bright red/pink colored beer with a huge head with excellent retention. Carbonation is very strong and aroma is comprised mainly of sweet raspberry. Taste is very refreshing with a very good taste of raspberry (not too much sweetness though) and tart. I appreciated the fact that the acidic part was well covered and wasn’t taking too much place. Overall, this was a very refreshing drink that I wouldn’t mind trying again on a hot summer day.
