reakt (810), Greater London, England Apr 3, 2008 Thought it odd that I’d not rated this but bought and rated a bottle @ Lowlander a couple months ago anyway, sure enough, as I randomly scrolled through my old phone I found a rate from Ealing BF last year. It’s actually quite interesting to see the difference in my rating style since then, however the scores were amusingly only 1 point different. Oh well, at least it’s in the upper echelon of lambic fruits and I can just combine the two. Red with an orangey hue, like anodized aluminum, with a thin white head. Nose is initially sweet raspberry but theres also some strawberry and lemon in there along with the usual lambic tartness and funk. Taste is much the same, sweet with a little balancing vinegar acidity and dryness. I’m not in any way upset that I’ve had another, I’m just left with a sinking feeling that I may have had rates on the old sim card that my ex absconded with, D’oh!
CapedBrewsader (184), Brasschaat, Belgium Sep 6, 2008 37.5cl bottle at home: Hazy deep fuscia with a more brown center. Tall fading steamed salmon head made of large bubbles. Sense of cherry and raspberry syrups. An almost "sugar substitute" accent. Nice hint of tannic fruit skins with must and dark earth. A lactic vein only appears when swirled up. Upon tasting you first notice tart apple-skin and dark cherry-skin with some cherry pit tannins. Classic underlying lambic flows in behind the skins and pits. Raspberry and cherry character but really subdued when compared to the aroma. Starts off feeling medium bodied but does a great job of drying out as it lingers. Nice dry and lightly tart (for a lambic) finish. JoeinUccle (667), Brussels, Belgium Aug 25, 2008 Tart and dry drink that comes across classy. 37.5 bottle at Botteltje in Oostende. Pours clear reddish-amber with pink-tinted, grayish head. Looks natural, even if filtered. Smells like fresh raspberry jam with musty accents. Flavor has only light sweetness, going tart and pretty dry at the end. Raspberry notes are restrained in flavor, which is nice I think. daniele (763), Italy Aug 22, 2008 rossastra buona schiuma ma non molto persistente note di lampone confettura pochissima acidità al naso in bocca tanto lampone dolcezza da succo zuccherato con per anche la sua acidità che pero sembra molto lieve nella base tanto lampone poco gueuze BoBoChamp (660), Gent, Belgium Jul 26, 2008 38cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, sour fruit beer, not balanced, clear, nearly no head, nothing special, needs to be revised Brouwser (97), gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jun 20, 2008 Bière aux reflets cerise. peu de mousse et d’effervescence.
