Medium sour and acid. Some cheese like notes but the nose is very fresh. Also some hints of rhubarb and sour berries. Medium sour/acid, well balanced flavour with some woody notes and some fruits in the finish. Medium to full mouthfeel and body. Mega dry ending. Nice and refreshing. Sourish, vinous aroma with some wood. Medium body, lightly sweet caramel and a distinct sourness. Again these lovely wooden flavours. Sour finish. 090507 Floback (335), Naples, Florida, USA

I have difficulty convincing my friends to enjoy sour beers, but I can’t get enough. Powerful and pronounced sour yeast notes in the nose and taste. My initial pour, I got mostly head due to my impatience. When I did it right, I received a one inch, fluffy head that resided to nothing. The beer appeared with an orange, mellow gold color. Barely any lacing with extreme carbonation. The aftertaste of sour apple, citrus, and Jolly Rancher was cloying and lingering. Simply delicious. oberabcbbsok (686), Hoboken, Belgium

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 1, 2007 Pours cloudy yellow with a small white head. Sour citrusy aromas immediatly filled the room when popped. Flavors of grapefruit with a tart apple finish. Wife said she could appreciate how well made it was but she didn’t really care for it. I thought it was very quaffable. KAME (156), California, USA

As soon as the cork was popped, that familiar sour funk filled the air. Pours a bright golden amber with a frothy white head. Amazing lacing on this brew. Aroma is very nice, dry, sweet, tart, with good funky barnyard mustiness. Flavor is quite exceptional, with a great complexity of honeysweet grapefruit finishing in a lasting tart yet dry citrus finish. Palate is bit full-bodied for the style, but the carbonation helps lift it off the tongue. I’d love to try this with a few years on it. Beer2000 (1825), Kristiansand, Norway

Aroma is bubbling fresh, acid and fruit – complex. Flavor is also complex, its sour, acid, fruity and somehow some kind of a balanced sweetness. The main impression is very sour but this is becoming more balanced after a few more sips. This is a complete geuze that for sure will mature very well and become extraordinary. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 29, 2007 The first glass is a clear deep peach colour, with a massive, soft, white foamy head. Subsequent glasses obviously get a cloudier and cloudier as the yeast mixes in. The initial aroma hints at sourness with that typical wild fermenting fruit nose. The first mouthfull hits with a bang as your tongue is assailed by a slightly dirty sourness and the sharp bite of heavy carbonation. The palate difficult to discern beyond the sourness but there is a fruitiness to the acidity and a touch of wood, which I’m sure would open up as you become accustomed to the acid. Has a very pleasant mouthfeel, thanks to the heavy carbonation making sure the flavour fills every part of your mouth. Clean and very dry finish. Thanks heaps to Mullet for sharing this with me!
