Enough funk and sourness to keep you really interested, but not so harsh as to be unpleasant. Really drinkable gueuze. I will definitely buy more of this the next time I am in Belgium. joergen (8637), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 6, 2006 Bottle. Clear dark gold with a thin white head. Sour apple aroma with a note of curry? (maybe from the frite shop below). Quite sweet for a gueuze. The balancing sourness has some apple cider and chardonney qualitites. Lingering tart finish. Smooth but still complex. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 24, 2006 Bottle thanks to BierKönig: Pours a clear golden bronze with a lightly-lacing wispy white head. Very cheesy, lightly earthy aroma has some malty complexity. Body starts with a mild toasty malty sweetness and some drier cheesy barnyard character before a lightly sticky, tart, cheesy earthy finish. This version doesn’t have the fullness or complexity of the black label version, yet it is still quite good. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA

Sweet underneath. Flavor was moderately tart with a sweet finish. Light and refreshing. smcd (366), USA

A definite diacetyl presence overwhelms the more palate pleasing horse-fair and old leather aromas one would normally expect. DanielBrown (1919), Birmingham (via Leicester), West Midlands, England

Superb blend of sweet and sour, with big apple and pineapple notes. Tangy aftertaste, mouth puckeringly refreshing. Just harsh enough to be dry, and nice gentle carbonation. No head, no lacing, but good marmalade colour. This is my new favourite Gueuze. (rated Dec 2004) Sammy (4062), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Apple juice, grassiness, eno salt carbonation. Some sour bitterness in finish, but overall balanced with the fruit sugar in a drying aftertaste. Thanks Madsberg,
