Rather sophisticated nose of...."sour nuts"? All the lovely, complex gueuze flavours are here: shipyard, ahem sorry - barnyard, mold, sweat - all trditionel delicacies.... But my stomach always goes bananas after gueuze... Bring in the Lanzo - a whole bucketful please. 221199 whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 10, 2005 Updated: Aug 18, 2005Soft, silky white head on a golden-copper body that was mostly clear minus a few stray floaties. Fantastic, deep bouquet of barnyard, toasty wheat, black tea leaves, a note of vanilla, and dried orange peels. Flavors of grain bread, wild yeast, and a note of vanilla. Lightly puckering sourness and some very mild, balancing sweetness. Definitely one of the most interesting gueuzes I’ve encountered. Carries an extra layer of depth.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 28, 2005 Fine warm-orange color with nice snow-white head. Very refreshing aroma’s of rubarbe-jam, agrum fruits unripe nuts, birchwood and the root of a tree. Good soury attack and nice woody structure. The taste is on the dry side and has the crispyness of unripe exotic fruits with the bitter edge of lime zest and grapefruits. A nice refreshing beer that is less massive and expressive than the Black Label. ante (2956), Stockholm, Sweden

Woody and tart flavour of grapefruit and white grapes. Short grapefruity aftertaste. No nearly as good as the unfiltered version. MiP (9098), Sønderborg, Denmark
