Bottle at Taverne ’t Botteltje in Oostend. Poured hazy amber with a large off-white head. Light sour, pale fruit aroma. Near medium body with pert carbonation. Flavor is like a faro base without sweetness - here the sour is pronounced. Very pleasing drink.

Bottle purchased from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, Belgium, consumed 30-06-09 Pours hazy amber with white head, very busy carbonantion. This has a zippy, fresh aroma big on lemon and other citrus. Clean tasting, refreshing, little sharp and sour but overall just a very decent Gueuze A7 A4 F7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Bottle. Pours very lively amber coloured with a dense egg white head. Very fizzy. Aromas of raspberries, caramel, lemons and vinegar. Sour flavour with notes of malt, raspberry vinegar and tartness. I would choose the black version any time. Still good though..

aroma definitely has "horsey" qualities, with citrus, mustard, vinegar, oak. Tastes of hay, grass, dry vinegar, dust and "other sour dry stuff" as my notes say. Medium to light bodied and hella drinkable.

37.5 cl bottle at home. cork says ref DX 2009. clear amber, small offwhite head. refreshing sour aroma, sour berries, slight citrus. flavor starts out very sour, then goes dry and ends bitter. the sourness is near perfect, the bitterness a bit off. dryness is okay. The black label was better, but this one still a very good sour.

Clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of caramel, fruit, a hint of smokey phenols. Tart, fruity flavour with lots of lemon peel, caramel notes and some sweetness.

Bottle. Clear golden body with a big bubbly white head. Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, sour berries and barnyard. Sour citric flavour with some grapefruit and other tart fruit underneath. Some honey as well. Very dry finish. Medium bodied. Ends up grapefruity and refreshing. A sweet non-sugar like thing stays on your teeth after a few sip.
