Rating #1100. 37.5 cl bottle. Poured into a flute a sparkling buffed gold with a holding white cap. Nose is lemon custard, cobwebs, sourdough and pepper. Lovely intermingling of sweet, sour, tart and funky. Light and airy with a soft pucker. Taste is lemon pith and juice with a nice lingering breadiness. Dry finish with a touch of orange peel.

375ml corked and caged bottle via trade with KimJohansen, thanks Kim. In the middle of a big beer related cleaning job in the house and I felt like something special, so why not a yummy gueuze. Popped with a lot of pressure and gushed a bit. Pours orange with a bright white foamy head. Nose is sweet, and sharp with notes of apples and lemon. Taste is quite potent with a hell of a lot kick. Tart and funky. Nice gueuze.

Bottle, cork & cage, 375ml from Hopduvel Warehouse, Ghent. Dreamy, tangy beer, for those that believe they do not like Lambic, they really must try this. Probably a little more subtle and behaved than the unfiltered, this is sharp, lemony, bramley apple and citric all in one hit. The flavours never become overwhelming, just a very decent beer.

37.5-cl bottle at Delirium, Brussels. Preferred the black-label version to this in a side-by-side tasting, as this seemed less balanced and with more off-flavors in this tasting. Still a very enjoyable beer, perfect for a long summer evening on the balcony.

Oh no, not another gueuze...
Appearance: Light orangy brown. Fizzy, generous head. Aroma: Sour, typical gueuze. Maybe slightly lemony. Unripe fruit. Honey. Taste: Sour and acidic. Unpleasant aftertaste. Info: 250ml bottle, 26/2-2008, 190/500
