Nice funky smell, with notes of barnyard, tart apple, and slight lemon. Taste is nice and sour with some oak, and this underlying sweetness that lingers in the background. Very lively on the tongue, with a good finish. I usually don’t like sours, but I’ve loved both the Black and White labels from Girardin. Dedollewaitor (3773), Odense, Denmark

Sweet & sour well matured aroma. Sour, oak & acidic. Very soft & allround - well balanced. Great original gueze feel! JK (2967), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 20, 2008 It was good of Hellomynameis to share this rare treat. I didn’t realize it was filtered. It has a powerful aroma of yeast and barnyard. Lots of sour, infected aroma. Sour, biting on the tongue, but it fades quickly, almost like it is melting. Some oak. Cloudy yellow color, and no visible sediment. SilkTork (4192), Rochester, Kent, England

Straw mould aroma. Aged wood and old wine. Can be a little sharp in places, but not aggressive. A fairly pleasant and quite drinkable experience. OSLO (829), Minnesota, USA

Really nice sour, acidic taste and aroma that are very similar to the Black Label, only not quite as sour. Sour finish lasts forever. A really enjoyable gueuze that is comparable to, although not quite as good as the Black Label. joebrew (608), Farewell Minny; Hello Puyallup, Washington, USA

I love this beer and wish with everything in me it was still brought to the U.S. by D & V, but alas no more. Great sour with lots of earthy barnyard funk as well as tart green apple and lemon acidity. tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA

From a 500 ml bottle pours a cloudy golden yellow beverage with a fizzy white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film. Aroma of yeast funk/barnyard with some light fruit and bread malt. Taste is light to medium bodied, well-carbonated with a sour hard fruit flavor with plenty of fizz. Finish is spritzy and tart with a lingering yeast aftertaste.
