gunnfryd (3539), Kristiansand, Norway Nov 3, 2009 Bottle. Red colour with a pink head. Aroma is sour, yeast, cork, oak, cherry, vanilla. Flavour is sour, yeast, hint of sweetness, cherry, oak, vanilla. A really nice beer. eManu (172), Brussels, Belgium Oct 31, 2009 Pours a hazy deep red color with a light pink head. Aroma is very fruity and with some oak. Flavors are sour fruits, cherries with oak and a hint of vanilla. A little acid and dry finish. A very nice ballanced old style Kriek, one of the best and true Kriek, not overly sweet and light fruit taste. saxo (3513), Højbjerg, Aarhus, Denmark Oct 30, 2009 Bottle. Nice pink head with excellent duration. Color is ruby. Aroma and taste are lactose acid, fruits, malt and citrus. Gr0ve (1382), Oslo, Norway Oct 17, 2009 375 ml bottle. Brownish red colour. Clear. Medium-sized whiteish pink head. Cellary and acidic aromas with a delicate cherry-like almond aroma. Not that sour once it enters the mouth. Quite mellow and gentle in fact. Notes of leather. Very nice flavour. Surprisingly balanced. Gets drier towards the finish. A great beer. Beerlando (2284), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 12, 2009 Bottle from De Bierkoning. Pours clear and blood red, with a tall head of spongy, bright pink foam. A wet wash leaves some splotchy, jagged flares of lacing behind. The aroma is bright with ripe, juicy cherry, showing sweet-tart and simple, if not overly saccharine. Lacking in funky tartness, i smells almost more like a simple fruit beer than a true lambic. Flavors too fall short in sourness, focusing primarily on sugary cherry, with distant hints of wood and vanilla showing on the back end. Medium
bodied and lively on the tongue, the palate is overly sweet and sticky for the style. Decent at best, this is not my type of lambic. fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Sep 30, 2009 Corked bottle, 37cl, bb 0706 (whatever it means) Cloudy red color; persistent head. Out of the bottle, immediately an aroma of cherries; it gets lighter and later there is just some aroma of wood. Aggressive mouthfeel, tart and acidic, very lemony, but never exceeding, and only with a vein of cherries. Tart final. Rough but solid, not much fruity, for tough drinkers. DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Sep 25, 2009 [9/8/08] Bottle at Delirium Cafe in Brussels. Deep burghundy color with a big, slowly-diminishing, pinkish-beige head. Aroma of cherries, sugary candies, some caramel, wood and light medicinal quality notes. Sweetish flavor mixed with some nice tartness - cherries, marzipan hints, wood and some earty notes. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. A nice Kriek. Adenila (931), Denmark Aug 16, 2009 Deep purple with a nice pink head. Nice clean cherry aroma. Flavor is wellbvalanced acidic and sweet which all in all makes for a very refreshing kriek. Lovely.
