[9/8/08] Bottle at Delirium Cafe in Brussels. Deep burghundy color with a big, slowly-diminishing, pinkish-beige head. Aroma of cherries, sugary candies, some caramel, wood and light medicinal quality notes. Sweetish flavor mixed with some nice tartness - cherries, marzipan hints, wood and some earty notes. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. A nice Kriek.

Deep purple with a nice pink head. Nice clean cherry aroma. Flavor is wellbvalanced acidic and sweet which all in all makes for a very refreshing kriek. Lovely.

Cask Stillage at the GBBF Earl’s Court, London 08/08/2008 Cherry fruit aroma. Ruby red coloured with some sour fruit flavour. Crisp and slightly dry in the finish.

Pours a murky dark red color with a thick pinkish head. The aroma is pleasant, tart cherries are noticed along some mild funk. The flavor is quite solid, the tart cherries are still there, but it’s more wild and funky than the aroma. The body is light to medium with an oily, dusty texture and moderate carbonation. Like most Girardin lambics, this kriek has a lot of class and elegance, this is a very solid product.

37.5cl bottle clear bright red, pink head. aroma of fresh cherries, citrus, sweetnes. flavor is cherries, dryness, faint sourness, a bretty kriek experience

Bottle. Unclear reddish brown body with a red fluffy head. Light sour aroma with lots of cherries. I catch light mint notes as well. Flavour is ripe cherries with a medium sour touch. Medium bodied. Nice.

Bottle shared by eclectic: Murky ruby pour with an off white bubbly ring of head. Musty sweet aroma- some almond paste notes and light oxidation- moldy wood notes as well. Light fluffy feel- sweet flavor- sweeter than I expected from Girardin, yet it’s natural and rounded. Some marzipan/almondy notes from the cherry with later papery musty character. Solid and natural fruit presence, but a tad sweet for my taste.

375 ml bottle shared by eclectic at the Girardin Boxed lambic party. Pours a deep ruby violet amber- with a fizzy soda like carbonation- no head. Aroma is sweet, ripe cherry, cherree pureee and juice- sugary, with a hint of funky tartness. Flavor is tart cherries but not really ever getting sour, a bit thick and syrupy becoming a bit fakely sweet and cherry like, with a slick and sweetish finish. Meh.
