Strangely, this one had an aroma reminiscent of port, which was a lovely surprise. I guess there wasn’t much sourness here to being with, which makes sense given how the Framboise tasted. Taste is slightly sour fruity, but for whatever reason, I couldn’t say it was a definitive cherry flavor. In any case, it was pretty tasty. KyotoLefty (1440), Kyoto, Japan

Lactic, yogurt aroma with tons of cherries and moderate sourness, some funky blanket. Lovely balance in the mouth, with sweet cherry and sour, lactic acid, a bit of funk, almonds, almost vanilla ice creaminess. Perfectly smooth palate. Love it. A little less sweet and more sour and it would be perfect. kwatoko (30), Belgium
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 30, 2009 Bottle. Clear cherry red with slightly pink but firm white head. Aroma of cherry (what else) with maybe some citrus and what I believe to be wood. Very nice carbonation, taste is sweet with a light sour touch. Very refreshing and nice beer, but no match for 3 fonteinen or oud beersel (even though you could state it could be served on different sorts of occasions). austone (1039), Turku; Pori, Finland

Very fresh, real cherry nose, little sweetness, almond, hints of wood and white pepper later on. Flavor misses out on some of the best cherry fruitiness with funky gooseberry tartness, wet wood and red currants. Very different than the aroma, mellow sourness overall. Light, a tad watery mouthfeel with very soft carbonation. A very enjoyable kriek, great juicy aroma. lassem (308), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 21, 2009 Pours a deep almost artificial red with a huge-bubbly pink head. Nose is with winegums, "over-the-top"-cherrys but nice balanced between sour and fresh notes. The taste is really good with a fat buttery finish. Its very drinkable and would be a good starter for people who are about to enter the world of lambics. Its fresh and mild wth a fizzy "club-soda" feeling to it. I prefer my lambics a bit more sour - but OK Geuzelambix (110), København, Denmark
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | May 19, 2009 A dusty aroma leads into a sour taste of fresh and yet old (?) cherry. This kriek is by far better then most of the commercial ones and yet I still feel a tad unfulfilled. I don’t really know what to think. Good and very interesting - but not orgasmic. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 28, 2009 Bottle. Ruby colored with a big lasting pink head. The nose are sweet and fruity with cherry bubblegum notes. Flavor is sour upfront with some tartness and a watery finish. MitchWayne (264), Kokkola, Finland
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 22, 2009 Sweet and sour cherry smell, the taste is sour but the sweetness completely acts against everything that is good in this beer, the wood and the sourness are held back by the sweetness. Not refreshing, more like a dessert kind of a deal and because of that doesn’t hold a candle to oud beersel’s kriek.
