Commercial Description:
The original brewed Lambic. Letting this beer age for 1, 2 or 3 years and mixing those for fresh Lambic makes a Gueuze. A Gueuze is also bottle conditioned which gives it carbonation. The Lambic however is complete flat without bubbles. Available only in draught form.

Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "Girardin Oude Lambik" and anything less than 6 months-old under "Girardin Jonge Lambik".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik". If in doubt, message JorisPPattyn.

Pale amber in colour. Mildly funky aroma, with some suprising spicy notes. Flavour almost has some malty notes, with lots of citric fruity notes. Very acidic in the finish. Tasty stuff though! Very refreshing.

Bag-in-box (Ølbutikken). Served in plastic cup. Clear amber. No head or carbonation. Sour, woody, fruity aroma. The flavor is very sour and vinegarish w/ some fruit and a touch of sweetness. Dry finish. Slick, flat mouthfeel. Good drinkability.

I’m not a lambic-girl! Or a gueuze-girl for that matter. And as could be expected, this isn’t a beer for me at all. It smells great though; of plump fruit. It tastes way too sour and weird. But it could be worse of course..

On bottle)So this is what straight lambic tastes like, huh? As I could have guess, it´s not a complex experience like geuze. sent was pretty ransid and there was balsamic feels to all the citricness. tart and hard to sip with pleasure only.

Exactly what a Lambic should be. perfect for introducing someone to the style or to blow a true Geueze lovers mind. A nose to die for so well balanced it is astonishing and a palate of aged lemony lambic perfection. Soft full bodied with an appetizingly citric acidity that begs you to come back sip after glorious sip. Almost velvet mouthfeel.

Bag-in-a-box at Copenhagen Beermarathon 2004: Deep redbrown color with no head at all. aroma is very mellow some wood, some brett, some vineaigre. Taste is rather mellow, some sourness. All in all a very ’carefull’ lambic, that doesn’t roar at you but rather purrs
