Commercial Description:
The original brewed Lambic. Letting this beer age for 1, 2 or 3 years and mixing those for fresh Lambic makes a Gueuze. A Gueuze is also bottle conditioned which gives it carbonation. The Lambic however is complete flat without bubbles. Available only in draught form.

Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "Girardin Oude Lambik" and anything less than 6 months-old under "Girardin Jonge Lambik".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik". If in doubt, message JorisPPattyn.

Bag-in-a-box. Thanks to Enjoyit & Ølkonsortiet. Pours a clear golden with a small head. Sweet aroma with a somewhat soft sourness. Quite mild, but nice. Flavour is bitter and sour with slight notes of wood. Finish is a lingering dry bitterness with hops in the background. Overall quite mild for a lambic, but very drinkable. Nice. 01-05-09.

On draugt at Brugge Beer Fest 2008. No head, golden color: Sourness is lighter and not overpowering. Makes it quite smooth and balanced with the malt background. Barnyard, a little basement mustiness. Very nice, hope I get to try it again.

On draught at Bier Circus. Great example of a draught lambic, flat, sour, musty and complex. Expect no bubbles.

Bag-in-box @KØ 2005. Golden body with no head. Aroma is intensive sour, fruity and hint of oak. Flavor more than less as aroma. Intense, refreshing acid sour, fruity like immature cider apple and traces of wood.

Awesome, a little sour but a very good one. The colour is a littl greeinish but crafty. Had it at GBBF 2008.

Aroma: apples, pears, and mozzerlla cheese water, some spices and maybe some stewed tomatoes
Appearance: golden yellow-orange
Flavor: some startchiness--like potatoes, some spices and some stewed tomatoes or tomato sauce
Palate: smooth with weird vegetable taste--this really isn’t working...
