jbrus (4184), Delft, Netherlands Mar 12, 2002 Updated: Oct 23, 2003 My first perfect 5.0! Lambic is a beer that you will have to learn to drink. Don't rate it while your a beginner. It's very much unlike other beers. Lambic is the authentic way beer was brewed probably hundreds of years ago. I've tasted Lambic 1 year old and 3 years old. Both are excellent but the 3 years old is 3 times as intense. The aroma is very fruity and complex with apple and grapes. Smell the barnyard, oak and even wine-like aromas. Right from tap it's hazy and sometimes even cloudy. Golden/amber colour. No head at all of course and no lacing. It's flat, soft and smooth, light sweet and sour. Also very complex flavors with the oak very well present. Fruity, sour apples, and malty. The finish is smooth, long, light sour and light tart. Man, I love this beer!
Beer_2000 (1269), Kristiansand, Norway Sep 28, 2008 Bag-in-box @KØ 2005. Golden body with no head. Aroma is intensive sour, fruity and hint of oak. Flavor more than less as aroma. Intense, refreshing acid sour, fruity like immature cider apple and traces of wood. Nekronos (1949), Xalapa, Mexico Sep 13, 2008 Awesome, a little sour but a very good one. The colour is a littl greeinish but crafty. Had it at GBBF 2008. daniele (830), Italy Aug 18, 2008 oro schiuma praticamente assente piatto note di legno ossidazione un tocco di frutato leggero citrico ijn bocca non molto acido legno ossidato un leggera nota di malto lilannie (382), State College, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 29, 2008 Aroma: apples, pears, and mozzerlla cheese water, some spices and maybe some stewed tomatoes
Appearance: golden yellow-orange
Flavor: some startchiness--like potatoes, some spices and some stewed tomatoes or tomato sauce
Palate: smooth with weird vegetable taste--this really isn’t working... KimJohansen (4296), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jun 16, 2008 Draught @ Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation 2008. Clear deep golden with no head. Sweet and sour with barnyard and apple notes. Ends sour.
