jbrus (4117), Delft, Netherlands Oct 5, 2001 Nice schwarzbier. Burned malts and sweet. Very full of taste. MoritzF (3690), Ruhrpott, Germany Aug 19, 2006 (bottle, with many thanks to EithCubes) Clear, dark mahogany colour with a proper beige foamy head, which is quite persistent and slowly lacing. Sweet, slightly roasted malty aroma with caramel and shades of hops. Bittersweet flavour, moderate roasted malt character with caramel and also toffee notes. Moderately dry, roast-malty bitter and slightly hoppy finish. Not very complex, but a clean and pure goodie. joss (3117), Garching b. München, Germany Nov 7, 2006 Bottle, big thanks to Pivnizub! Fruity malt and roast nose with a aromatic hop counter. Chestnut colouring, golden brown creamy head. Burned sugar, roasted malt, caramel, light inherrent fruityness, aromatic hops - low on bitterness. Medium body with a mellow mouthfeel. Light almond and coffee aftertaste. Grovlam (2997), Copenhagen, Denmark Oct 19, 2007 0,5 L bottle with courtesy of Papsoe. Nice light brown thick head that mostly diminished. Flat and mahogany colored. Good display of lacework. Aroma of burned malt, grain, caramel and light fruity notes as well. Over the palate a light mix of coffee, chocolate, liquorish and brown sugar appears. Hint of hoppy notes as well. Quit nice. Medium bodied with an average carbonation and light dry texture. Somewhat tingling texture. Well balanced bitter and sweet malty flavor. Light burned bitter finish that lingers.
