Cherry-sweet flavor with a pit-like bitter finish. Liqueured chocolate covered cherry lingers. Mild, spicy carbonation in the mouth provides a pleasant fluffiness and leads to a dry finish.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 18, 2007 Sampled at the second annual Bistro’s West Coast Barrel Aged Beer Fest: Pours a transparent copper bronze with a wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of sweet caramely complex bourbon with a nice raisin and brown sugar complexity. Body starts fairly rich and caramely sweet with a good balance of bourbon and a touch of tart cherries toward a full, sweet and tart sticky caramel finish. A nicely balanced unique brew. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 12, 2007 This poured a dark brown highlighted in red with almost no head. It held an aroma of Bourbon, chocolate, sweet red cherries, and lightly roasted dark malt. Considering the style and the cherries, this didn’t get overpoweringly sweet, perhaps because of all the alcohol. Tasty and chocolatey like a dark malty pudding with sweet cherries sprinkled over with Bourbon. Not too shabby.

The hops are earthy and floral. Lots of bourbon and chocolate flavors and well as cherries. Nice balanced. Very smooth. Hides the alcohol very well. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter. MoDog (927), Griffith, Indiana, USA

This beer poured a dark brown color with a minimal tan head. The aroma of the brew consisted of roasted malts, chocolate, and marichino cherries. The flavor contained light chocolate notes with a lasting, sweet cherry finish. The bourbon was very restrained. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with a good dose of carbonation. An interesting, flavorful brew. Works for me! IrishBoy (2720), Bakersfield, California, USA
