Hazy amber coloured with a huge off white head.
Spicy aroma of caramel and yeast.
Spicy flavour of caramel, fruits, yeast and hops.
Yeasty and spicy finish. argo0 (6176), Washington DC, USA Sep 22, 2007 (750ml bottle, dated 4/28/07) Hazy copper body with large head that yields a frothy lacing. Aroma is moderately sweet, flower/perfume, some berry, alcohol, light plum. Taste is moderately sweet, berry, some bread/caramel, plum. Some alcohol, especially in the finish, light burn. Medium-full body with light effervescence. A bit boozy. Rastacouere (5283), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Feb 20, 2008 Objectively speaking:
Under average dubbel that lacks definition and confidence.
I like:
Big off-white head. Good lacing. Limited sweetness. Fair floral hop kick.
I dislike:
Timid aroma. Quite mineral. Vegetal and apple undertones. Light body. Biting carbonation. Raw, dull yeast dominates. Expensive price. MiP (5121), Flensburg, Germany Mar 18, 2008 Bottle at ZBF08. Roasted flavour with some fruitiness. Clear dark brown colour. Some barley sourness, not too bad though. Long bitter finish, slightly slour.
