(on bottle) Golden orange, white head. Sunflower and passionfruit in the taste, strange, yet nice combo. Foamy mouthfeel, slightly cloying finish. Got some åpepper in there too.

Sampled on 10/23/2009. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a dark to medium copper color form a 750ml bottle. Large sized white rocky foamy head, with nice retention and good lacing. The aroma is fruity and sweet. A medium to full bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. Touch of banana and clove. A touch of sour and funk as well. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

75 cl bottle, bottled in March 09. Hazy coppery red-brown with a big rocky head. The aroma is initially faint, then hints of hops, dates, honey and something dusty start to appear timidly. The flavour and mouthfeel, on the other hand, are an immediate explosion of all things malty: full body, nicely round but not exceedingly sweet taste, chocolate, nuts... Finish of oak aged sherry and discrete hops. Had it with pizza (a slice of Hawaii and two of vegetarian) and found it a quite satisfying dinner.

Bottle. Hazy reddish amber with a creamy off white head that lasts through out the bottle leaving great lacings. Very fruity aroma with some spices, orange, yeast and dried fruit. Dark fruity flavour with a good hoppy bitterness and spices. Dry finish that ends up hoppy bitter. Creamy mouthfeel. Lovely.

Medium dark cloudy chestnut color with a brisk coca-cola type head that rises rapidly and falls quickly, but then sticks around. Aroma of toffee, raisins and scotch with lots of malt apparent. Tstes at first like butterscotch candy without too much sweetness, then develops an edge os pepper and spice, finally finishing with a lightly hopped bitterness. Very nice example of the style, more spiced than most.

Pours a dark hazy chestnut brown color with a huge frothy three finger frothy, pillowy tan head. Good retention, slowly fading to a lasting cap that leaves chunks of soapy lacing in it’s path. Spicy roasted malt aroma with hints of peppery zest, chocolate, caramel, coffee and toffee. Dark fruit notes, mostly plum and dark berries. Roasted malt flavor with hints of dark chocolate, cherry, plum, raisin and fig. Slightly carbonated up front with a creamy body, sweet estery dark fruit and a sweet yet bitter dry finish. Alcohol is extremely well masked and the ABV is almost undetectable. Dangerously drinkable.

750ml bottle, slight hazy amber color, with a pillowy beige head, leaving some balgian lacing, yeasty, spicy, fruity nose of dried raisins, figs, dates with some toasted, caramelized malt, toffee accents, with a faint caramelized brown sugar, ripe apple pie aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a mild sweet toasty, caramel, yeasty, fruity character of dried sultana raisins, figs, dates, with some toffeeish, caramelized brown sugar, toasted, biscuity, caramel malt flavors, and light flowery hop grassy, citrusy note, leading towards a malty, fruity, grassy hop bitterness finish.

750ml bottle (Kaisla, Helsinki) big bottle weeks
It was late, and I was more interested in drinking it than rating it when I had this. Very malt-dominated. Deep cloudy amber, small tight head. Caramelly and yeast aroma. Taste very malty and marmitey. Smooth palate, very drinkable, and covers 8% well.
