Commercial Description:
Ondineke is a classic tripel, brewed in the ancient way, again with exclusive natural ingredients: artesian water, malt (barley), hops, yeast and liquid candy sugar. As in the Saison no spices are added. Ondineke is an unfiltered top fermenting beer. It is soft, creamy, and of golden color. It is double hopped with the last real hops available from the region of Aalst (The variety is Hallertau Mittelfrüh). Ondineke has a positive taste evolution and the bottles are best kept standing in a cool, dark place. It is best before two years after the bottling date. 8.5 % alc.vol. makes this a beer to be savoured. Preferably Ondineke is to be served at a temperature between 6 to 10° C. Moreover Ondineke is at its best when served in the originally designed Glazen Toren glass.

A pretty standard tripel, solid without too much alcohol, a medium weight on the palate, aromas of melons and darker fruits with plenty of sweetness and slightly spicy/bitter end, aftertaste mostly dry and herbal.

Bottled 6 Aug, 08. Very bubbly hazed golden orange liquid. Slightly rocky heavy cream colored head and fine lace. Pale malt, toasted scones, honey and herbal hops in the nose. Quite sweet in the start, with a ever so gentle nudge of hops that have some herbals and pine qualities. Bits of white pepper, anise and allspice in the finish and into the linger. Some hints of light fruit and candi as it starts to warm. A solid tripel.

750ml thanks to Boutip. Cloudy pale golden with a massive frothy white head with amazing retention and good lacing. Aroma is bready, sweet and spicy. There is also candy sugar, yeast, traces of alcohol and a hint of cookie dough. Flavor is very sweet with a bit more alcohol than expected. There is also notes of spices, hops, grass, bread and yeast. Medium body with a syrupy and sticy body that ruins it a bit.

Pours a hazy golden orange color with a 2.5 finger frothy yellowish head. Good retention, slowly fading into a lasting cap that leaves sporadic spots of lacing. Spicy peppery zest aroma with hints of corriander, bready yeast and citrus peel. Smells like a bland version of a style that usually has an intere4sting aroma. Sweet citrus aroma with a lot of zesty/peppery flavor. Lots of corriander with bready yeast body and sweet citrus notes. Orange peel and grapefruit dominate and the alcohol is well balanced.

Bottle, 75 cl, shared with my brother-in-law. A light hazy yellow-golden beer with a big white, creamy, light unstable head. Very special fruity and malty smell, some spices included. Taste is also fruity and light sweet, malty and spicy. The beer doesn’t have an aftertaste, or a very short one,j but it doesn’t matter for this one. Nice fruity beer to drink, certainly the special taste is one of the positive points, and that makes it differ from the similar "Bloemenbier".
