Brown bottle 75 cl. Hazy orange color. Lots of particles swimming around in the haze. Very agressive, really wanted to get out of the bottle. Lots of carbonation gives a really thick bubbly white head. Fresh aroma of lemon, orange, green apples, coriander, cloves and yeast. Quite light flavor in perfect harmony between sweet and sour with the same fruity citrus and spice. Goes perfect with fried fish, lots of lemon, chips and mayo-sauce.

Serving date: 2009-01-07. Served in half-pint glass. 750 ml bottle. Freshness date printed on label (Best before September 2010). Pours a rather hazy yellow-orange color, with a large airy white head. Good head retention and nice lacings. With the plentiful bubbles, this adds up to a very nice looking brew. Lots of citrus all the way in the smell, coupled with floral aromas. Earthiness is also present, as is of course yeast. There is also a hint of tart. The taste pretty much duplicates the smell with plenty of citrus (but now clearly in the form of lemon) coupled with floral and earthy notes. However, the yeast is more noticeable in the taste. Tart appears in the finish, which is also a little bit dry. The beer actually tastes quite good. However, towards the end, when it warms up a bit and actually looses quite much carbonation (which is not that common with Belgian beers), the beer changes in a negative direction and looses much of its character. (Perhaps, it should also be noted that I finished the bottle in under an hour, so the loss of carbonation shouldn’t be attributed to slow drinking). It is a medium-bodied beer, and the bubbles and foam creates a nice mouthfeel. Drinkability is high. I liked this beer. Although it is perhaps rather average and it didn’t hold up all the way, I could really see myself having a few more of it. NOTE 1: My first written review. Serving type: bottle (Copy of old Beer Advocate review)

Bottled : 02 apr. 2009 Murky blonde with a huge thick everlasting foamy white head. Nose of...brussels sprout! bread yeast and apple crackers. This smells like DMS. Heavy carbonation leads to a slick attack in mouth, slight sourness, bready, yeasty and some oxydized malt. it was not a too pleasant experience. I must admit I had much better example of this beer before, used to have a much cleaner hoppy profile than this DMS/dead yeast driven Saison. Tasted twice with consistent notes.

Bottle ( 750ml ). Shared by blankboy with garthicus, gregclow, jerc and mabel. Hazy gold with a large lasting fluffy white head - ragged lacing remnants, quite a few floaties. Light, sharply dry/spicy aroma, fruity peach sweetness, with a hint of lemon tartness - quite yeasty. There’s an odd vegetal unpleasantness initially in the taste, but it smooths out to sweet fruity malt, lush yeast and soft spiciness ... average soft body, a hint of Orval-ish funkiness, but quite quick-finishing - niiiiiice (a good saison).

750ml bottle (Kaisla, Helsinki, Big bottles weeks) - shared by Mirjukka and Janne - thanks!
Slightly hazy straw, healthy tight head. Fresh grainy aroma. Grainy, fruity, crisp and uplifting. Crisp and tingly on the tongue, some nettles too in the retronasals. Quite green and farmy, but not vegetal. Organic, husky grains, grassy, crisp, and refreshing - quite a bite in places. Great saison.
