Sampled at the 5th Annual Wildland Firefighters Benefit & Festival. Beer is clear, medium brown with a small, light brown, frothy, quickly diminishing head.
The aroma is malty with a light note of toasted grain, moderate-to-heavy note of caramel; Hoppy with a moderate note of tea, light note of herb; Moderate trace generic fruity note.
The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter with a shortish, trace bitter finish.
The body is lively, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.
Seems shy.

At the 2007 Big Beer, Belgians, & Barleywines Festival in Vail. Ruby red in a rich dark golden hue with a thick beige head that has fine staying power. Forms excellent lacing rings around the glass. Aroma is an excellent blend of medicinal smells and tea-like aromas. Flavor is packed with good hop bitterness mellowing the large malty syrup sweetness. Smooth palate with mild carbonation. I found this to be very yummy.
