hopdog (4552), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 12, 2006 On tap at the Golden City Brew Pub. Poured a medium reddish / orange color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas and tastes of grain, citrus and toffee. Thinner. Ernest (4217), Boulder, Colorado, USA May 30, 2002 Updated: Aug 22, 2006Bomber. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy dark amber, bottle conditioned. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread, caramel), lightly hoppy (resin), with notes of sherry/cardboard. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Unknown age, but does appear to be somewhat oxidized. Malt character is nice, but the mouthfeel is quite thin and rather sour. That’s how this beer has always been from the bottles I’ve sampled, so it’s at least consistent in its mediocrity. motelpogo (4111), Plzen, Czech Republic Aug 3, 2004 the guy at the brewery went to the trouble of putting a fresh keg of this on so i felt bad that i didn´t really like it. tasted like young homebrew, a little appley and sharp Eyedrinkale (3102), Beer Town, New York, USA Jan 8, 2008 Bomber. Pours cloudy red with just a wisp of a head, not a good sign. Aroma is meaty and sweet with crap malt aroma. Body is pretty thin also with a decent amount of sweetness. I’m surprised a beer this poorly made isn’t somewhat sour, but the bomber is pretty fresh. Aubrey (2577), Denver, Colorado, USA May 13, 2006 Deep red, with an apple juice-like appearance. Headless. Watery texture; very little carbonation. Very toasty with a sweet base of toffee. Lesser notes of nuts and flowery hops. Plant-like bitterness. Hints of chocolate were nice, but not enough to make it exciting.
