| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2002 Wonderful full malty aroma with a touch of yeastiness...Color a deep amber with good healthy head...Flavor also features a fairly sweet malt base, but hops are in full support, at least initially. Unfortunately, the finish is relatively tame--the initial robustness fades into a smooth but bland farewell. Still, quite good...I’ll certainly give it another hoist in the future. heykevin (1269), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

There is a strong buttery-diacetyl flavor that is pervasive but not particularly unpleasant, this tastes to me very much like a scottish ale. joet (1708), Fulton, California, USA
