the brewery. Everything I look for in a porter is exemplified in this brew. AleDrinker (1090), Sunnyvale, California, USA

Flavor is nicely balanced with a smooth and creamy body. Very flavorful, moreso than the stout. Dark chocolate finish lingers on the tongue. cathcacr (590), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 11, 2007 Bomber. Prominent roasty notes. I’d say "licoricey" but it’s not sweet. A sharp Porter, as sharp chedder is to cheddar, with similar back-roast underlying the main flavor. Great, lasting, light-tan head and generous lacing. Has an inkling of wateriness lurking under there.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 15, 2007 Bomber. It smells like chocolate, and maybe a bit of roasted/toasted malt. The color is opaque brown/black, and the tan head is multi-fingered. Thin to medium bodied, with rather fizzy carbonation - no bite though. The start is coffee, followed by chocolate. It is roasted malty sweetness, and the finish is relatively dry and coffee bitter, if you can wait for awhile. Very pleasant. Impressive pour. adrian910ss (1435), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2007 22 oz bomber. Pours a black color with a large foamy brownish beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and touch of smoke. Taste is of roasted malts, some chocolate and a slightly bitter finish. Nothing spectacular here, but not that bad either.
