| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2005 (22oz bottle) Small beige head atop a black cola body. Aroma is medium sweet, roasty, coffee, tobacco, light chocolate, earthy/grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, coffee, nutty, roasty, some earthy, lactic acid, light salty. Medium body, some oiliness, light acidity. Seems a cross between a schwarzbier and a porter, unusual but pleasant. bu11zeye (5621), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 12, 2005 Poured a dark black with a very small sized tan head. Aromas of chocolate, roast, coffee and toffee. Tastes of chcoolate, caramel, roast and light coffee. Thinner body. I think we saved this one from going completely bad as the aroma and taste had a sourness lurking in the background. CaptainCougar (5527), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 2, 2007 Pours an opaque with dark brown edges and a frothy dark tan head. Aroma of cherry tartness and some lightly roasted malts. Body starts light and fizzy with a touch of sweet dark caramel before sourness takes over toward a warming slightly acidic finish. Seems like it would be a nice porter were it not as acidic. ¾ (5003), Colorado, USA

Faint malt aroma. Licorice, dry hop finish, with a subtle wood flavor. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 9, 2004 Black with ruby edges, sticky thick head, off-white. Aroma isn't very detectable on the draught version but in the cask it is full of sweet molasses & chocolate. A touch of mocha in the last part of the nose. The flavor is lightly smoky & roasted with the perfect body for the style. Very little carbonation. Even for cask/beer engine. Delicious cask porter though (rating numbers are for the cask version).
