Slightly roasty, largely sweet and more of a roasty schwarzbier than a porter due to its thinness, but let’s not quibble. I think this is a delicious, extremely malty brew with a touch of sourness to add to the complexity. Utterly delicious. Very much my thing, as I love malty, sweet Scottish Ales. Sensational chocolatey aroma. Its only weakness is it’s a touch overcarbonated, perhaps. Nevertheless, I LOVED this brew!!!!! Keep up the good work guys.

Black with ruby edges, sticky thick head, off-white. Aroma isn't very detectable on the draught version but in the cask it is full of sweet molasses & chocolate. A touch of mocha in the last part of the nose. The flavor is lightly smoky & roasted with the perfect body for the style. Very little carbonation. Even for cask/beer engine. Delicious cask porter though (rating numbers are for the cask version).

On tap at the brewery. This beer really shined compared to the rest. The massive roastiness and very smooth thick body of this beer really caught your attention. Chocolate flavor up front, rolling into a silky smooth body that had the texture of being poured on nitro, though it wasnt. This finished off with a nice coffee bitter end. Very nice porter.

Nice dark black color, medium sized tan head that had a good hang time then fadd to leave a bit of lace behind. The aroma was malty and coffeeish with a nice chocolatey side and maybe a bit of hops in there somewhere as well. The flavor was very nice malty and chocolatey with a bit of some coffee notes and dried fruit.it goes over very smooth with a nice slightly bitter finish with some chocolate notes and a hint at some smoke in there as well.A very nice brew and well worth having another or better yet a 12er for later.

A nice classic take on the style. Deep rich and looking like coal in the glass. Aromas are slighty fruity smokey and full of rich cocoa. The flavor has a nice chocolate burnt coffee flavor and a rich creaminess that makes for a wonderful mouthfeel.

[Tap – Brewery] Deep brown color with a small head. This brew had a deep malty character with chocolate and toffee flavors. The beer was a great drinking beer. Very dry and a great overall flavor of a porter great job Golden Valley.

Dark black body, barely a ring of head around the glass. Chocolate caramel, toffe, coffee aroma. Campfire smokey, sweet caramel flavor.

Bottle... Poured black with a thin brown head. Nice roasted malt aroma. Silky smooth palate. Big cocoa presence with a nice malt complex. This is great little treat from the brewery. Everything I look for in a porter is exemplified in this brew.
