Commercial Description:
This is one of our rare lagers brewed in the style of the German Heiliges Geist Bock, or Holy Ghost Bock. The nane refers to the lighter nature of the beer as opposed to the darker and heavier Dopple Bock and Mai Bock also brewed during the spring in Germany. There is a rich malt flavor, a firm German style lager head, and a clean lagered finish to this beer.

Bottle, pours a nice medium golden color, that looks good for a lager with decent head. Taste is fairly large and ceral in taste, reminds me a bit of a biere de garde, but not so farmhouse in aroma. Mild hops, Tasty and quite drinkable would make a good session brew.

Bottle Malty aroma with citrus tones. Poured pale brown with white head. Malty flavour, with an unpleasant big swath of molasses in the middle of it. Bready finish, with more molasses. I admit I’m not familiar with the Heiliges Geist bock style, but I would not seek this out. It could be I just don’t like the style.

This was not terrible, but not great either. This one goes from salty to sweet to sour, and never really seems to quite get it together in the mouthfeel. Lots of alcohol and semi sour fruits are present in the aroma, which leads into this malty and overly hopped for the style.

Argo0 was kind enough to give me a sample of this beer, and I thought slightly better of it than he did. Strong alcohol aroma. A light orange, cloudy beer, and doesn’t or smell like a bock ought to. Fairly sour with lots of cherry. These flavors are not awful but don’t really belong in this style. This beer is a mess., but the sour flavor and fruit provide some redemption.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a copper/red with great clarity and a white head. Nice and malty start, but the hops were too much for my taste, long trailing bitter finish with a slight green hop taste in the finish. To much bitterness in my opinion.

(12oz bottle) Minimal beige head with no retention, atop hazy amber body. Aroma is sweet, cherry, some alcohol, sour, mild lemon. Taste is sweet, cherry, light alcohol, light astringency. Watery medium body, some stickiness.

(Bottle) Pours a clear golden body with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of mustiness, butter, florals, and grain. Flavor of corn grain with some fruity sweetness.
