Commercial Description:
IPA Brut pours like a deep golden champagne witha rich head. An aroma redolent of summer fruit with a toasty malt bubbles forth. A slightly sweet malty front palate proceeds to finely balanced floral and apricot notes, with caramel and oak undertones. This beautiful IPA finishes dry and bitter, with a hint of sweetness at the end. After its appearance at the OBF, this beer was then aged a further 3 months in chardonnay barrels and disgorged prior to a limited bottling, available only at the brewery.

Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a thin lazing off-white head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of wine, spices, and hops. The flavor is sweet with strong ntoes of chardonnay and wood - very sweet and very complex, leading to a dry woody finish. Matured in an Argyle barrel.

(750ml Bottle) Pours a lightly hazy orange body with a small off-white head. Aroma of apple juice, grapefruit juice, herbs, and wood. Flavor of pink grapefruit, tangerine, white grape, and light pine with a dry oak finish.

750ml bottle. Poured a medium amber color with an averaged sized off white head. There were a ton of floaters in the bottle and pour. Aromas of earthiness, floral, wood, and had a light vinous character. Tastes of vanilla, citrus, caramel, citrus, and lighter earthiness. This was a decent beer but in my opinion, a little over priced at $25 a bottle.

OBF 2004. Dark orange appearance. Spicy mild nose, very strong flavors, though. woody and just a little lemon juice thrown in there... possibly some wine flavors. Sweet orange, acidic, light nose with heavy thickness. Decent, but unbalanced.

750ml Bottle: Mahogany color, nice carbonation level with a light head and decent lacing. The nose is ripe with brett and oak, sweet fruity grapes blend with the hops. Sweet wheat grass and light bitterness flavors with the continuing fruity theme. The finish is a bit tangy with oak and musky apple notes. Interesting beer, I think more brewers should age with white wine barrels instead of the beefy bourbon and intense cabernet sauvignon stuff.

Light copper body with a light khaki head. The aroma was old sock with bleu cheese and rotten apples. The taste was slightly sweet with some tangerines. The finish was woody. There were also flavors of pears and some toffee. Why put this in a clear bottle?

Provided by Steve: Coppery hue with a lasting head and good lace. The aroma has notes of citric and herbal hops, allspice and pepper, caramel and toffee, and a note of oak. The taste has developed a nice bitterness versus a sweeter malt base. Undertones of both biting apple versus sweet apricots throughout. Buttery oak finish leads to a calming mouth feel. Spicy and woody aftertaste. Good but... wanted more.
